Ulricehamn in West Sweden to host the World Cup in cross-country skiing in 2017

For the first time ever and over the weekend of 21-22 January, Ulricehamn will host the World Cup in cross country skiing in 2017.

The event in Västergötland (West Sweden) will be a real festival, offering activities throughout the week, with the aim to promote cross-country skiing as a sport in Southern Sweden. Over the weekend, this stunning location will come to life with fun and games for all the family, whilst the various competitions take place. More than 60,000 spectators are expected during the weekend.

Just over an hour’s drive from Gothenburg Landvetter airport, visitors can fly to Gothenburg and transfer by car to Ulricehamn. The entire route is a motorway.

Ulricehamn is an accredited training centre for the Vasaloppet ski race. There are also some slopes for downhill skiing in Ulricehamn, at the Ulricehamn Ski Center (depending on weather conditions, of course). Ulricehamn is trying to position itself as a winter destination – despite its southerly location.
