Funny: Lynda Woodruff welcomes the artists (ESC 2016)

"Welcome to the 61st Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm where you can all be Heroes"

Sarah Dawn Finer was born and raised in Sweden but has grown up bilingually, with Swedish and English – her father is from the UK and her mother from the US. During the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö Sarah played Lynda Woodruff, a fictive spokesperson for the European Broadcasting Union.

Comeback in time for the ESC 2016

Lynda Woodruff was back for the Melodifestivalen final this weekend with this humorous video. We keep our fingers crossed that Lynda will even appear in the ESC finals in May this year.

From the Stockholm Hall of Fame to an overload of Swedish schnapps

Part 1 of the video shows Lynda in front of Stockholm’s Arlanda airport – here the contestants from all over Europe will arrive in May.

In Part 2 (starting at 0:38) Lynda visits the Stockholm Hall of Fame at Arlanda airport. The exhibition welcomes travellers to Sweden and Stockholm. Well, Lynda has her troubles with the names as usual. We love “Josephine Born-in-a-Bush”. And “Noomi Rape-us”.

In Part 3 (1:25) you can learn a lot about Swedish holidays and traditional Swedish food – and drink, of course. This cannot end well, as you can imagine. Meet Hope and Glory. See for yourself.

Famous Lynda quote

And remember the popular Lynda Woodruff saying:

“The month of May is just around the corner.”
