Swedish entry for ESC 2016: If I were sorry – Frans

Saturday night we all sat in front of the TV, watching the last round of Melodifestivalen. This is the six-week long Swedish music competition that is arranged every year to select the Swedish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Melodifestivalen final was held at the Friends Arena in Stockholm in front of 33,000 enthusiastic music fans.

Everyone in our family voted for Frans, a charming 17-year old student from Ystad in Skåne. And indeed, his catchy song “If I were sorry” won. Now he will represent Sweden in the ESC final in Stockholm on May 14.

Two wins in a row?

Will Frans take home another victory for Sweden? If he won, it would be Sweden’s seventh ESC victory – and Sweden would come level with Ireland.
