If you are travelling on a tight budget or just like to sit outside in fine weather, we can recommend street food. In Gothenburg there is a growing number of food trucks. You will find them in the city centre, for example on the Gustaf Adolfs Torg square, the Esperantoplatsen square, near the Lindholmen Science Center or on the Magasingatan (near Artilleriet).
The food trucks serve mostly office workers, students, and tourists. You can get pulled pork from the USA, high-quality hamburgers, burritos, Thai food, herring from the west coast, vegetarian soups and other delicious meals.
Find a food truck with the “Streetkäk” app
With a few exceptions these food trucks do not have permanent locations in Gothenburg. So how do you know if there are any food trucks in town and where you can find them?
There is currently an app that collects all this information. It is called “Streetkäk”. “Käk” is an informal Swedish word for “food”. Streetkäk features:
