If you are visiting Stockholm and interested in photography, be sure to stop by the Scandinavian Photo store at Sveavägen 20 (close to the Sergels torg square where the tourist information is). It is not just a store but also a small gallery. Back in a corner of the store you will usually find an exhibition with unique photos.
Right now (until April 24) you can see fine art prints by award winning Nigerian-American photographer Lola Akinmade Åkerström, based in Stockholm. She has traveled to roughly 60 countries. Her images have appeared in high-profile publications such as the National Geographic Traveller, BBC, CNN and The Guardian.
Previous exhibitions include pictures of eight US presidential campaigns by Brooks Kraft, Knut Koivisto’s portraits, street photography by Mats Alfredsson, and pictures from Göran Kropp’s Mount Everest expedition.
