Downhill skiing in Stockholm: Hammarbybacken opens on January 9

The recent winter weather in Sweden has also benefited Stockholm with snow and cold. Now you can finally take the first slalom turns in the middle of the town. The snow guns are running at full, and on Saturday, January 9 at 9 a.m. the Hammarbybacken will be opening for the downhill season.

Regular opening hours apply from the opening:

  • Sat-Sun 9-18
  • Mon 15-22
  • Tues-Thurs 10-22
  • Friday 15-22

“City event”: FIS World Cup Race on the Hammarbybacken slope

Hammarbybacken will continue to stand in international focus during the FIS Alpine World Cup race, which takes place on Tuesday, February 23. The competition is part of the trend towards “city events”. The top 16 ladies and men of the overall World Cup will compete in a parallel slalom on the Hammarbybacken slope in Stockholm.
