Gothenburg around Christmas time – A TV documentary

This film was produced by German television channel ZDF in 2010. It was shot during one weekend in December and shows Gothenburg preparing for Christmas. People are relaxed, there is no sign of hectic Christmas bustle, the atmosphere is laid-back.

Although the film is seven years old, the cosy Haga quarter (Old Town) looks exactly the same today. This is also true for the Café Kringlan with its enormous cinnamon buns.

Even the rest of the film is more or less up to date today. Gothenburg hasn’t changed much in those parts of the city centre which the film team visited in 2010.

However, there are two major exceptions: The shipyard you see in the harbour is gone now. And the Röhsska Museum is closed temporarily.
